The Cube a sculptural sound installation based on the first Platonic solid, which is symbolically associated with the element Earth. Inside, a dark space represents an Alchemic process of Calcination, which starts with Black. This space can be physically entered through a small door, creating the experience of transformation towards Self. Light enters the form through glass beads imbedded into the work in patterns of sacred geometry.

Acoustic resonant sounds vibrate the sculpture, presenting sound as material, and by slowing their brain waves down to alpha between 8 – 12 Hz, enable people to feel calmer and more relaxed.

The Cube was exhibited as an artist commission for Bournemouth Emerging Artist Festival (BEAF2019). During which Spencer performed Metaphysical Sounds: Acts 1-5, playing Himalayan singing bowls from inside the closed Cube, inviting audiences to engage with the sound through listening and placing their hands on the sculpture's surface. An average of 1000 audience members were also encouraged to enter the Cube, and through this research Spencer discovered it's positive impact on wellbeing, especially with people with neurological differences.
