The temporary installation was created at Hawarden Woods Estate in Flintshire in December 2021and is part of a series of Environmental artworks created from the last remnants of Autumn materials.I arranged circles of pinned Hazel leaves into the bark groves of an Oak tree, taking advantage of the light winds and settled conditions. The circles are suggestive of tree growth ring imagery and of the never ending cycle of interlocking seasons coming to full circle.Autumn lingered well into December and I used the fading colours of Hazel leaves especially from trees found next to a brook. These very large leaves gave me scope to be ambitious in terms of scale and enabled me to transform the surfaces in an expansive manner conveying a more dynamic visual punch.
