Artist Statement

I am a writer, curator and artist, playing in the space between image and language. My practice can take the form of critical debate, academic query, creative response or performative statement but is consistently rigorous, political and resonant.

The materials I use are old and new media, found images and objects, and language itself, culminating in texts, installations and performative gestures. I’m interested in the search for authenticity, the division of nature and culture, the sound of dissenting voices and the potential of art as a catalyst for social change.

My work is informed and underpinned by philosophical ideas and current debates, particularly those concerning technologies, emancipation, historical revision and queer subjectivities.
