Artist Statement

Julia Riddiough is an artist creating vivid film & photographic essays that combine fact & fiction using found imagery and the archive as source material to edit and reframe in different visual mediums including still and the moving image. Riddiough also engages in the debate that surrounds authorship and authenticity and the dilemmas these pose both to the author and the audience. Riddiough is also the founder of A Brooks Art a not-for-profit artists' led gallery. Future aims will span overseas artist residencies, online and virtual projects, UK regional creative enterprises as our physical space in London closes. A Brooks Art is a space of continual transformation, engagement and action.
