Human life can be perceived not necessarily as a sequence of random experiences but as meaningful and related phenomena. I am interested in opening up a dialogue between my artwork and the viewer to consider these experiences and the nature of being a human in this world.
The question of identity and gender appears an important one in modern societies and I want to talk about life from the perspective of an individual. The life of a person is constructed of phenomena such as emotions, physical experiences, imagination and ideas. One phenomena of particular interest to me at the moment is an appreciation of transgender people, people with different sexual orientations and feminists in post-Soviet and post-communist countries. I believe that by examining conscious as well as subconscious experiences - such as living in a newly-independent country and being brought up by an older person who has a conscious experience of an ideological regime that can be subconsciously transferred to a younger generation - it is possible to define your present and future life.
