The emphasis of previous work has been the use of abstraction to portray an atmospheric and ethereal sense of the landscape. In order to achieve this I have used my observations of the natural environment and interpreted them through the use of colour and texture to create the sensation of being encompassed within the landscape rather than being a mere observer.

For a short period, I found I was being more influenced by world affairs and in response to this my work entered a more figurative phase. Within these works I hoped to convey hidden agendas of a personal and political nature.
More recently I have returned to abstraction, not to convey any hidden agendas or views, but for the sheer enjoyment in the use of paint, colour and form to produce a new exciting body of work.
