Amanda Loomes, MA, Fine Art Painting, The Royal College of Art, 2006 has created a moving image project as part of the Forestry Commission's celebrations of 100 years of forestry
The Custody Code sheds light on the contemporary working forest and our intimate relationship to timber and the unseen labour behind it. The project follows the life cycle of forestry from seed; nursery; planting; harvest and on to the sawmill, creating a story that takes the viewer on a poetic journey through the scale and complexity of timber production, told from the joint of view of people who work in the industry
