Black Lace Agent Provocateur Corset, 2020 by Teresa Whitfield

Teresa Whitfield

Sourced from the Victoria and Albert Museum’s costume archive at the Clothworkers’ Centre, London, this flamboyant and dramatic 1990s lace corset was not designed to be concealed as an undergarment and encompasses both the liberalisation of the corset in contemporary fashion and the extraordinary versatility of lace.

16mm film colour still, outtake from a 16mm film made with Catherine Street, developed during a CCA Creative Lab in Glasgow in August, 2021; the completed film Women's Studies will be presented in 2022.
