Pentacoronae, 2019 by Susan Eyre

Susan Eyre

Etching, screen print, metallic c-type on paper suspended sculpture.
“Sky glow” is the yellow umbra leaching into the night sky from light polluting urban areas; obscuring our view of the constellations, shrinking our universe and severing our relationship to the stars. As ever more powerful telescopes and data gathering equipment open new areas of the universe to our view, generating imagery we could never see with our naked eyes, we are drawn to experience space via mediated technologies. Dark sky areas are precious locations where we can still stargaze, wonder and map our own stories across the sky.

Blue Plaques of Intangible Experiences, 2019 by Claire Barber

Claire Barber

The project ‘Blue Plaques of Intangible Experiences’ is a collaborative project between myself, June Hill and Leigh Bowser supported by an Arts Council National Lottery Project Grant and involves working with groups of people to support them to produce their own creative stitch-based work. Three groups of people from two different community centres in inner city Bradford are taking part in the workshops to develop their own work in response to positive and often intangible aspects of neighbourliness experienced in their local community, which they will display as an exhibition event at the end of the project.
