Making work during a residency at G.S. Artists, 2019 by Sarah Poland
This is an installation view of the final display of work made during a project developed during a residency at G.S. Artists in Swansea in summer 2019, titled 'Treasure In Stillness'. This work uses oak gall ink and silver gelatin photography on paper, canvas/linen and gesso panel.

The work and the walk are documented in the artist's book ' A Walk For Stanley' 2019, published by Peculiarity Press.

Acrylic and oil on board. Uses shine, opacity and tonal similarity to play with the eye and create an image with reduced tonal difference that alters greatly depending on the angle the picture is viewed from and the lighting conditions: sometimes highlighting the image, sometimes revealing the brushstrokes only.
