Galleries R Us, 2018 by Gabrielle Hoad

Gabrielle Hoad

Presented with Preston Street Union (PSU), as part of Art Week Exeter 2018, Galleries R Us was an itinerant, wearable art space made in response to Exeter's diminishing visual arts infrastructure, specifically the closure of PSU's host organisation, Spacex. The gallery's programme was built around a series of microresidencies by commissioned artists including Nick Davies, Lucia Harley, Laura Hopes and Pete Kingston. The art space and its contents appeared briefly at public sites including the bus station, the quayside and a building site, then dispersed again into the surrounding crowds.
