Artforms:
Textiles

"Broadly speaking textiles within art refers to any form that involves the use of fibre, thread or fabric, be it found, constructed, sewn, glued, manipulated, knitted, spun or woven.

Textile Art, once firmly housed within Craft, traditionally took the form of clothes, upholstery, tapestry, carpets and wall hangings, while contemporary Textile Art with its broader, conceptual bias encompasses hand-sewn ‘drawing’, sewing-machined ‘painting’ and abstracted three-dimensional forms often made into large-scale installations."
