It’s been a while since I’ve written about the development of the brand new Axis. This doesn’t mean that nothing’s happening – oh no – there’s plenty of planning and behind-the-scenes discussion…
- Axis and fuse8 workshop
A few weeks ago we had an all staff workshop with fuse8 where we got to the bottom of what content will be on the new website.
Since then, fuse8 have been working away and are almost there with the structure of the new site – which we think is pretty exciting. With improved navigation, it’s going to be so much easier to find things in the new website
We’ve been having some long and wrangling discussions about searching – and how to ensure we help people to find what they are looking for – partly this is down to directory members and how they categorise themselves and their work – but it’s our responsibility to help and give them the tools to find their audience and encourage connections.
We’re coming up with lists of potential search terms, tags and filters and continually refining them, alongside getting audience opinion.
Which is where you come in…
So how do you find what you are looking for?
Are you a browser or do you generally come to Axis looking for something specific?
What information do you think is essential when looking at an artist and an artwork?

hello and good mornig my name is patrick wentzell i work at a place dealing with those that have developmental disabilities. we have art classes we take everyne does there own thing. i am new to this web i have pictures of things i made years ago. and i envite all to see my art on my site feel free to leave any coments you want. my favorite things to draw and paint are nature scenes, animals, superheroes, space, boats, and rainbows. i use pencils, markers, crayons, paints, pastells, have made many nice pictures some are on wallls where i work others in shelves. gotten compliments from others on my nature stuff. looking for new oppertunities to get my work noticed more by advertizing. also looking for ways to learn to draw and paint in different ways. i enjoy seeing other pictures that other artists have done my motto enjoy what you draw or paint make it however you want it to be. it is always a pleasure to meet at talk with new artists every day.
