The selection has taken place and I can now reveal that we have appointed digital agency fuse8 to develop the new Axis web platform.
Their proposal was brimming with ideas for how Axis can be developed. Suggesting ways to improve the design and let the artwork stand out, alongside simplifying navigation. They also have some inspiring ideas for technical features that will make the Axis website a much more engaging and enjoyable place to be.
fuse8 are a complete digital branding and technical development agency spread over 3 offices in Leeds, London and a technology centre of excellence in Russia. This is a great set up because the developers can work while we sleep, and vice versa. fuse8 have a broad portfolio of clients including IKEA, Red Bull, Persimmon Homes, Alton Towers as well as other charity and public sector clients including The Migraine Trust.
Our trading company Axis Web Developments has already worked with fuse8 on recent projects including our Art in Yorkshire – supported by Tate iPhone App. We’ve found fuse8 to be ingeniously creative and with great attention to detail. They have a really good understanding of the arts and cultural sector and the social media landscape.
So now to the planning stage and we’re already getting excited by a range of geeky ideas – we’re looking forward to working closely with fuse8 in the build up to the launch of the new Axis in 2012.
Is there anything you’d specifically like to see in the new development? It’s not too late – just let us know by commenting below or emailing feedback@axisweb.org

Thanks guys, it’s something we’re very much looking forward to working on!
